Removing Client Security Solutions
Removing Client Security Solutions
I want to remove Client Security Solutions from my T42. Is it as simple as going into Control Panel/Remove Program and zapping it, or do I have to fiddle with the ThinkVantage configuration interface? Do I have to also remove the Password Manager afterwards? Thanks.
Removing Client Security Solutions
I want to speed up boot time and also free up hard disk space. I'm wondering if there are other ThinkVantage programs I don't need. I don't travel with my T42 (I have an X40 for that), so no security issues.

Yes, it's so simple as going to control panel and removing it.
You'll lost some features as password manager and secure data storage.
Fingerprinter logon will be keeped.
You'll get faster startup times.
Enjoy

Rescue and Recovery is for OS or for data??egibbs wrote:If you are not using Rescue and Recovery it is a disk hog. Over 500 MB last time I checked, without accounting for the space backups take.

Both. It is used for the restore to factory default option, but you can also use it to create images of everything on the primary drive.
If you use it and are happy with it so be it. But there are plenty of other good products out there (TrueImage, etc.) that can do a better job with a smaller footprint.

I am sorry, i just had a same problem and the Control panel ad remove just some fake message the program still in and load with start. I did try to delete from the registry too but coming back...any other idea can be very helpful for me!
