Mouse and Keyboard Problems !!!

#1 Post by mark35 » Mon Nov 27, 2006 6:13 am

I have an IBM Thinkpad R60, when I booted up last time, when I pressed cerain letters it seems to put it extra letter for example,

q=aq
w=sw
e=de
r=fr
t=t
y=y
u=ju
i=ki
o=lo
p=;p

so on and so forth, it seems press 2 letters at a time, also the mouse works some for a while then the buttons are unresponsive for a while ?
has anyone come across this problems before ?????

Tried searching the archives for an issue like this but came up empty. Seeing how there is a pattern to the multiple letter generations (pressing a key give that letter, plus the one right below it), I would suspect the keyboard first then a motherboard problem.

The keyboard problem could be a short in one of the traces on the keyboard circuit board or the ribbon cable. If this were my problem I would first look for a replacement keyboard and try swapping them.

Question: what do you get when you press the A, S, D, F, Z, X, C and V keys?
