Battery Indicator Light won't turn off!

When I shut down my A30 the battery indicator light stays on, even after I unplug the AC adapter. It didn't used to do this and it does drain the battery. The only way to turn it off is to remove the battery for a few seconds and then replace it. This leads me to believe something's wrong with the shutdown sequence. Anybody know what's going on?
