Lenovo soundbar

#1 Post by macaddict » Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:41 pm

Hello,

We are recently moving from Dell to Lenovo. Our standard setup is the T60 with the Esential Port Replicator, the L192p monitor and the ThinkVision USB Sound bar.

All the computers that we have tried setting up, the soundbar sounds like crap. Specially at low volumes, there is a lot of static/noise that comes out of the soundbar.

Is there a hotfix or anything that I can install to fix this? I have ran System Update and downloaded all the updated drivers but that didn't fix it.

Thanks

Hello macaddict, I think it could be a physical not a driver however, I recomend to use a high end express sound card like creative or something like that and probably you can get a clearer, crisp sound and void the annoyance of static sound.

BTW how is good your L192p monitor????? I'm planning to buy a monitor whether L192p or the new lenovo D221 i will use it for photos occasionally not all the time so I won't use a calibrator.

At my work, we use L192p with the Sound Bar in question, and we have the same problem that you have. The noise that comes from this, is so annoying, that i don't use it at all. I don't think there is a solution, to the problem - or at least I haven't found it (tried just about anything, except hitting it :D)

It is very annoying and I can't belive that IBM/Lenovo would make such a bad product available.

The monitor works just fine. We used to get the Dell UltraSharp 19" monitors and you can't really see any different with the L192p.

Cloud,

Thaks for your reply. I have tried almost anything that I can think and can't get it to work. Now, I just use the internal speakers on the laptop while I'm at the office.

I listen to iTunes at a low volume at work and the soundbar is useless for doing this (not sure what it is good for).
