From what I have read, it won't work. There has been much success with T60p's (which have the FireGL) and X60(s) which have the Intel GMA 950, the latter of which JaS set up a patch in his install disk.

It's been reported that people have made the x1300/x1400 fully work on desktop but only partially work on laptop though.

I did succeeded with my T60 (ATI X1400), after a few trial and error installations.

Here is the successful sequence:

1) install from scratch using Jas 10.4.8 dvd (reseeded) of nov 3, 2006, with semthex kernel, installing only the minimum reasonable choice of Jas packages; in particular, DO NOT select for installation:

- usb 2 support (I was unable to boot even with -s option)
- ATI x1000 support (no way to later apply the patch; the ATI X1000 kexts will be installed even if you dont select this option, and on them the patch was applied succsessful)

2) after installation, boot with -s and delete:

- AppleHDA.kext
- AppleIOPCCardFamily.kext
- ApplePCCardATA.kext
- ApplePCCard16ATA.kext

otherwise the pc won't boot.

Afterwards, the procedure stated in

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34783

has indeed worked, I have now CI/QE support on the internal LCD altough with some mouse tearings. Fish 3D screensaver works!

Furthermore, once you have the system up and running, look here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35004

and you will find a script to download, which connects to the net and downloads and installs the latest Semthex kernel available.

Regards and good luck :)

Thanks very much Nebzar! Can you confirm whether power management works (i.e., suspend, etc) and whether your thinklight works?

The situation is this:
- Thinklight works;
- Suspend and the like do not work;
- Wired ethernet works, wireless doesn't;
- Sound works by patching the AppleAzalia.kext; however, after the patch, the sound was distorted with the semthex kernel of the DVD. After the upgrade of the kernel to the latest version (with the utility mentioned above) sound is ok.

Things that surprisingly do indeed work:
- the volume and mute buttons;
- fn-F5 to enable bluetooth (which works perfectly);
- LCD brightness control via fn-up key and fn-end key (dont know the correct names in english)

Regarding mouse tearings, I tried MouseLocator but at no avail :(

^ those all work because they are hardware controlled. Sleep uses the video card, and because the driver isnt fully supported, it doesnt work. Once the Natit/Titan projects make some more progress, we should all (*hopes*) have sleep working.

hey Nebzar,
I was wondering what ethernet card you have? I have BCM5752M. I got it to work, but it only works for a couple of minutes then it just stops.

Hi :)

I have an Intel PRO/1000 PL card (ven 8086, dev 109A) which worked out of the box, so i didn't really follow any thread on this.

Anyway take a look here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34074

there are some links to solutions for the Broadcom 57xx family. Good luck!

Wireless doesn't work (I have the 3945ABG card), and as far as I have seen there's no hope to have it working: no suitable driver exists so far for mac os x86.

best regards

If you still have problems with your Ethernet card, take a look at this post:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php? ... t&p=129533

As long as the Dev ID of your card is among those listed in the post, the attached kext should work for you: it did it for me, with the Broadcom ethernet card (DevID 167D) of my T43 on which I installed 10.4.8 over this weekend.

Regards
