What's the meaning of this?

What does the addition of the "P" to Thinkpad models actually signify? I can't find an explanation of it on either IBM or Lenovo and I don't know how to search for it here.

"Performance" - I'm just guessing.
IBM Thinkpad T43 (2686-M4U)
Pentium M 1.86 Mhz
2.0 GB RAM/60 GB HD

Peformance, I think it signifies that the certain model is top of its class. If you look at the specs, the "T43P" models comes with a 7200RPM HD, graphics, etc.
