Disabling Powerplay fixes artifacts! :)

#1 Post by mmmkay » Fri Dec 01, 2006 2:17 am

Well that was nice. I was getting weird artifacts and lines all over and shaking and fuzzy images every so often.

I went into the Display control panel and disabled Powerplay (helps improve battery life by clocking down the GPU) and now it doesn't do the weird stuff anymore.

Hopefully anyway. I'll test again in the morning :)

Obviously not an ideal fix, but if it can last me until my new computer arrives to exchange this one, yet again.. good. Maybe third time lucky with these R40's :)

DOH
Rather than crashing on startup it ran for about 25 seconds and then paused 3 times and then crashed :(
