#1 Post by gmgfarrand » Fri Dec 01, 2006 3:48 pm

Is it possible to replace my Banias CPU with a Dothan on in my T41?

Anyone tried it?

Yes, I was asking myself this question awhile back. Have yet to attempt it, worried about how hard it is to get to the CPU socket. But yes it's definitely possible, many have done it. Do a search.

It's very easy. Refer to the HMM. It looks harder than it really is. I have upgraded both my T41 systems to Pentium M 765 and they work perfectly, with no thermal issues. The speed boost is SIGNIFICANT. I refer to my babies as T42 systems now :D
