I have an 8 MB ATI M video card I cant play videos on Windows Media Player 11 nor use Windows Movie Maker. I cant use my Dynex usb 2.0 pci card. Any solutions to some of those problems reply to me back thanks.

You are probably going to need a better video card than that to get very much joy out of Vista. An 8 meg card just is not going to cut it in Vista.

There's a hardware accelerator setting in WMP 11 Preferences. Uncheck and try again.

As for the Dynex card, if this is the one you have, download the drivers and follow the read me to the point to see if it works. If not, we'll find another workaround:

As for the 8 MB card, disable all unnecessary eye candy. Even the Aero Basic. And go back to Windows Classic. You'll experience a huge speed boost.

By getting a different Thinkpad.
Hopefully Musti's suggestions will work. Otherwise you will probably have to hold off the Vista upgrade until you get a newer Thinkpad.

I like still like my Thinkpad, its build like a tank. Im going up to 1ghz on it. Its just hard to let it go just to install Vista?! I used Vista beta 1 on it with no problems.
