Can't trackpoint-scroll in OpenOfficeWriter

Hello,
I just installed OpenOffice 2.0.4. (Portable) and am finding that I cant trackpoint-scroll in Writer, i.e. holding down middle button and using the trackpointer to scroll. This works in all other apps.
Anyone have an idea as to why?

What trackpoint setting do you have it on under the UltraNav Wizard? Is it "Standard" , "Smooth" , or "Auto-Select" ?
