IBM t42 9600 - Unable to play fullscreen Videos

#1 Post by ispam7 » Fri Sep 03, 2004 11:06 pm

I use WMP 10 and can't play videos streaming or saved in fullscreen. Whenever I select fullscreen the screen goes black (I can hear sound) and a few seconds later it goes back to 200% view. I have the 15" SXGA+ version running at the default 1280x1050 resolution. Anyone else have this problem?

Ummm isn't the default for the 15 inch 1400x1050? well it is on mine :D

That might be your problem...

Another idea, go to WMP under options > performance > advanced > turn on 'enable full screen mode switch' option (or something like that)

I use wmp9 and full screen mode switch works fine. It could be a bug in WMP10.

Version 10 is a beta. Don't expect too much from it. I already had such problems you describe with the first beta of WMP9.

Uh, I stand corrected. Didn't notice the new version is already out.

Anyway, when I had such problems with the early WMP9 as I reported, it turned out to be an incompatibility with the video driver. You might want to try a different (older?) revision of it (the video driver, not WMP, of course) and look if that eliminates your problems. If that's no choice for you, you could also try to turn off some video acceleration features in WMP.
