I've installed Ubuntu 6.10 on an X60s. Originally I had Xubuntu, now regular Ubuntu.
In both cases, laptop mode is disabled on login.
I've tried changing the enable_laptop_mode=false flag to enable_laptop_mode=true in the acpi-support script. I've added a line to rc.local, reading /sbin/laptop_mode start.
Laptop mode is active by default, but disabled, with all of these settings. It reads: Laptop mode disabled, active.
Am I misunderstanding the file, or doing something wrong?
Thanks so much.
