Rapid Restore upgrade to Rescue & Recovery?

I have a T40 2373-72U purchased in August 2003 which I've recently restored to factory contents from the predesktop area.

After three years, I think I'm long overdue for creating recovery CDs. The system came with the older Rapid Restore program, not Rescue & Recovery. I'm going to make the recovery CDs with Rapid Restore for now.

After that, however, I am confused about whether to just continue to use Rapid Restore to cover my behind, or if I should somehow upgrade to R&R. I've read numerous posts here are R&R, but I don't see how one would replace the Rapid Restore program in the predesktop area, nor what the upgrade path would be.

Can someone explain this to me? Thank you!
