Finger Scanner

#1 Post by thefragger » Wed Dec 06, 2006 7:57 pm

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

I bought an IBM T40p for school not too long ago (2773-G1U) and it's been great... now, here's what I'm curious about-- does the finger scanner from later models require it's own connection on the motherboard or it is apart of the keyboard connection?

I thought I might try to mod my thinkpad and make it into some kind of hybrid... anyways, great forum-- thanks for any comments.

The scanner requires a dedicated connector on the MB, you can't upgrade older systems by simply installing the scanner.
