Where to buy 600E battery?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Where to buy 600E battery?

#1 Post by Bu11dog » Thu Dec 07, 2006 4:11 pm

Hello All,

Just got a 600E from work for free. It has PII366MHz, 160MB RAM and 6G HD. Very nice and solid machine.

One problem the baterry does not hold more than 30% of charge. The funny thing is when it charges to 30%, it stops charging.

I like to update th BIOS so I can replace the HD to 60G. Any suggestions on where to find a new battery? I like to buy directly from IBM/Lenovo but after market should be fine?

I am always nervous to buy things from xBay. :?

I just posted some info and links to a couple of pictures in this thread:

Discussion was originally about T2x/T30 batteries but applies to the 600 since I used batteryrefill.com. I have not used any aftermarket batteries in my 600s (as far as I remember), preferring genuine IBM batteries because of the "smart charging" circuit inside each battery.

BTW, I just got an almost identical system to yours (minus 128MB and 6GB) for $30. Battery is a paperweight :( . You got a better deal than I did!
