Rapid Restore from CDs didn't work

I restored my T40 to factory contents, then used Rapid Restore (not Rescue and Recovery) to backup it up. I archived the backup to CDs.

After making a few modifications to the system that I later decided I didn't like, I decided to test restoring from the recovery CDs I had made.

It didn't work! It looked like it was working the whole time, and finished without errors. But the system was just the same as it was before, and hadn't been restored to the image on the recovery CDs.

What's going on? Kinda makes the recovery CDs totally useless!

I could really use some help with this Rapid Restore. No one has responded to my other post.
