I'm not sure what to say about this, but I just went crazy with home-made stickers, turning my X60s' lid into a collage.

Well, let the picture speak for itself (big file, so beware if youre on d.d.d.d.d.dial up)

Hahaha... I can't tell whether you are a Democrat or a Libertarian! :D

I can't say that I'd do that to my own machines, but it certainly makes yours very interesting.

I'm ex-Republican, now Minarchist Libertarian. I abandoned the Republicans because all of the big government, boarderline Orwellian policies such as the USA PATRIOT Act, NSA Wiretapping, and the REAL ID Act.
Is it easy to remove them without leaving any residue?
I hope.

I'd do it quick or there may be residue. Or leave it, it's definately an eye catching conversation starter.

Nah, but I was wondering if it will cause additional searching when I get on a plane. Things like "Government is the negation of liberty" might raise some flags.

Well I've had a couple of the stickers on there for awhile. Most people are just confused because of either refrences they dont get or deeper meanings they dont get. I kept on hearing
"Well who is John Galt?" (which is a reference to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged),
"What happened in 1984?" (Obviously 1984 was Orwell's masterpiece)
"Why is two plus two five?" Another 1984 reference
"Anarchy? What?" Obviously confusing minarchy with anarchy
Oh, and one of my favorites, "Obey who?"

I cant wait for some of the questions with some of these new stickers....

Maybe I do have a loose screw, but I really dont care. Maybe its just that I'm a bit deeper and I care about issues more than most people. I am the exact opposite of the gentle cynic. I will go out blasting with my beliefs, no matter how awkward they may seem. I say what I mean and mean what I say. If someone doesnt like it, too bad.

No seriously, obey who?

1984 was terrific. Brave New World is a completely different type of work, its somewhat tragic that so many people compare them directly as to "which book is better".

I am your gentle cynic - though work at trying to change things.

I see everything but the Thinkpad logo is right side up . . .

All those engineers at IBM and they managed to hash that one up . . .

One IS black, the other one (white) never happened! I forgot who yellow and orange are!!

On the X41 T I am about to sin... I have been considering a deep wedgewood blue metallic color...or toreador red (yes, they are both automotive paints/colors). I have also been considering some writting to go along with it...but can't seem to find a used lcd top cover for the tablet...sorry for changing the subject!!

I think those stickers are good for thinkpads with scratched surfaces. And back on topic: those stickers are interesting but the layout is messy.

It's a form of collage. Visually I think that RUSH2112 did a fine job. Interesting subjects as well - even though I don't agree with some of the statements made or implied.

Yes, it is nice to me too but it looks untidy. I considered it as an art. :-) (no offence here, ya?)

My previous post is just another suggestion for those with scratched thinkpad lid. :-)

I wonder how much they pay to Lamboghini for licensing; same question goes for Acer and how much they pay to Ferrari. :)

Cost for licensing is a tough question - but a good one. It benefits both producers.

However, for $20, I can have a Lambo emblem...

Ok RUSH2112, here is your chance to be (more) famous. On Lenovo's blog ThinkPad Laser Etching, the following is posted:
Attention readers: have you customized your notebook? Post in the comments below and let us know, maybe we can post some of our reader's own notebook designs.

While I have not yet added stickers or anything to my laptops (except for a PB1400 which is designed for it), I can certainly understand it. I would like to do it. I think the OP's sticker are really cool. I could definitely have some cool political conversations with hims.

I wouldn't mind getting my soon to be T41p lid's done with some airbrushing. Possibly a mix of tech/sci-fi/fantasy type thing. I am waiting for macskins.com to hurry up and post their stuff for the Ti's again. My Ti's lid has some deep scratches (previous owner) and I would love to customize it.

Laptops are very personal to most of their owners. Just like we customize our homes, cars, cell-phones, etc., it is a natural extension to customize one's laptop.
