Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette
Hi everybody
I installed Vista on my PC, and now i can't use the F11 button anymore. I then found this on lenovos website:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-54483
I use the iso since i dont have a FDD drive for my X60s. I have now burned 2 CD's but nothing is on them, and when i try to boot it says missing command something. I tried to download it several times, still the same. Also when i just mounted it on my normal PC i still dont see anything in it... What is wrong?

Palleraa:
I did a test by downloading the iso file from Lenovo. I burned it to a CD-RW as a bootable iso image and tried it out. It works fine, so the hosted file is OK.
The burned CD looks like it has no files if you examine it with Windows Explorer, but the CD is 1.46 MB in size. When booted it loads PC-DOS and then displays a couple of screens full of information about replacing the Master Boot Record on the hard disk (I stopped there, not wanting to replace mine!)
I still suspect that your problem is that the disk you made is not bootable. Since I've never used Alcohol 120%, I can't advise you of the correct settings, but go look in their documentation to see what you need to do to burn a bootable iso image to a CD.

If you haven't removed Sonic RecordNow! from your machine, try making a bootable CD with that. Since that is the recording software that comes with the ThinkPads, IBM/Lenovo should have made sure that it would work with the download.
FWIW, I have had some burning programs that claimed to be able to make a bootable CD, but were unable to for what I wanted. For me, Nero 4 was the best that I have used.
