[UPDATE] new kernel on 10.4.8

UPDATE! I got 10.4.8 working with the new kernel AND video support WITH full resolution switching -- only problem is i cant get my internal lcd to work -- hope to have it all resolved by NEXT WEEK!

follow up:

after a week+ of working on it, i was only able to get full support on the external monitor; my solution was simply to run 2 copies of os x with a shared home / apps directory; 1 copy with configurations for a "docked" mode (attached to external) and the other for mobile usage. It seems to work well as a temporary solution. If anyone is interested, pm me.
