Vista + Keyboard Customizer

#1 Post by jarkko » Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:45 pm

I'm used to have my right ctrl configured as Win-key, and now I can't get this working in Vista (Business). I can install the Keyboard Customizer, and configure it just fine, and it even works, but after every reboot I have to once start the KC to get "Win-key" working.

Seems that for some reason it doesn't load at start up or something.

Any hints?

Otherwise, I'm really impressed how well Vista is working on my T43p, allthough I think it could use a faster CPU..

edit: And what happened to that very handy Win + L = Lock Computer?? Everything else works just fine, I mean the shortcuts.

Win+L locks my computer. This machine is on an AD domain.

I remapped the right ctrl key to act as a Win-key via registry and now Win+L locks my computer too. There seems to bee some problems with the Keyboard Customizer..

Hei Jarkko,

This is off topic ... but who does ThinkPad service in Finland? Is IBM Finland doing it? Or is it subcontracted to someone else? (I'm assuming that Lenovo Finland doesn't exist, at least not as a service organization.)

Kiitoksia etukateen ...

Good point. I have a T60 with a dedicated win key.

No, it's subcontracted to a company named Powermill which doesn't do a very good job servicing Thinkpads in my experience. The same company services a lot of things, like mobile phones, monitors and so on.
