Will my secure drive mount on another IBM?

#1 Post by phil81uk » Sat Dec 16, 2006 2:28 pm

Hi,

I want to created a new secure drive using Client Security Solution in order to securely store my backup files. The Drive File (.vol format) would be stored on an extrernal Hard Drive.

However, someone told me that the secure drive can only be mounted by the IBM which created it. Is this correct? Or can it be mounted any any computer running the Client Security Solution software?

It works for me. I'm able to create/move/mount the volumes on my two x41 from the external USB drive or from a local copy without any problem.

It probably helps both have the same CSS version although one of the volumes was originally created with version 6 (we are now at 7).
