ps2 mouse doesn't work

i plugged a mouse into the dock and i made the trackpoint automatic in bios, but my mouse isn't work. how do i solve this?

Plug mouse directly into laptop, if possible, using PS/2 port (if it has one; not familiar w/X systems) or by using a PS/2-USB adapter.

Try a different mouse.

Try the same mouse on a different computer.

You in the modern TP forums, and any modern TP will work automatically with no changes from out-of-the-box settings with the Microsoft Optical Wheel mouse in the USB port, or in the PS/2 port on a dock. At least, that is my experience with dozens of laptops. ... JD Hurst
