Welcome to the Thinkpad Forum :)

First off, what do you mean by "connect to other laptop" ?

Is this in an ad-hoc wireless network environment or are you trying some sort of direct connection local P2P through AC or the like?

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

If I understand you correctly, you have a wireless router at home with one laptop connected wirelessly. When you connect a second laptop, after a few minutes, one of the laptops is disconnected.

If this is your problem, I can say that I had the same problem too. I eventually bought a different wireless router and that solved the problem for me. My first one was an SMC wireless router, and the second that I bought that fixed the problem was a Netgear wireless router.
