t41 and port replicator = no hardware profiles

I think I read somewhere that the hardware profiles on the t41 when connected to a Port Replicator ll (part 74P6733 ) do not change from "Docked" to "Undocked" when undocking the t41 ??

My hardware profile remains as DOCKED in both docked and undocked state, and I cannot change the properties oif this DOCKED profile

os is winxp pro sp 2


Is it correct that using the Port Replicator ll will not change hardware profiles??
