screen brightness

#1 Post by vrs626 » Tue Sep 07, 2004 12:18 am

i just got my new t42p and i noticed that the screen is much brighter when the computer is plugged into the outlet. is there a way to change the settings so that the screen is equally as bright unplugged as it is when plugged in?

Create your own power scheme with equal screen brightness for battery and AC

It is easy to manually adjust your screen brightness by pressing: Fn + Home to increase brightness, and Fn + End to decrease brightness.

battery could have the low setting

On battery, there is a LOW setting that will stop the maximum setting,
the quickest way I have found to get to the monitor control panel is throuhg the IBM THINKPAD configurator, in start, ALL progrma,s then ACCESS IBM.

once that application is open, then click on display, and there is a monitor brightness setting, for HIGH, and you want to ENABLE this. From there, you can get the highest brightness even on battery

hmm....You're right - even with the brightness set to maximum, the screen is still brighter when plugged in.

Run Access IBM.

Click on Configure then Manage Your Display then LCD display settings

My T42p it is my 3rd ThinkPad and all my TP's have had the ability to easily adjust the screen brightness, and all 3 have been brighter when the battery charger is plugged in than when operating off of the battery.
