X31 wireless indicator

#1 Post by Anand » Tue Dec 19, 2006 1:19 pm

I upgraded my X31 (2672-N7G) to wireless by adding the intel pro 2915abg card. I did my research first knowing that this was a fully compatible card and should therefore be compatible with the wireless indicator light and would also upgrade the laptop to "centrino inside"

After runnig the 1802 hack and installing the card, it works well (can get wireless connection) however the wireless light is not working and the notebook is not upgraded to centrino in the bios. I have tried the generic intel drivers and the IBM drivers and updated the access connections software but nothing seems to get the indicator to work.

Is this card really fully compatible with X31? can I get wireless indicator to work?

if not, buy the right clear plate

It is the correct plate as it has a wireless indicator on it. it does not have a bluetooth indicator though (which i would not use anyway).

So I don't think it is a plate problem.
