Fingerprint Reader

#1 Post by hkelley » Tue Dec 26, 2006 11:48 am

Am I correct in that the driver software for the fingerprint reader is not yet available for the T43 through Vista?

There should be beta version of it, available on Lenovo's website. I installed that on my T60, and it works fine, except that you don't install CSS 8.0. With CSS 8.0, some functions in the control center (of the fingerprint software) would not work.

Interesting. Lenovo's site says that MS update has the fingerprint reader drivers. They don't have one. Where at Lenovo did you find the driver?

The page I'm looking at is at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... #notebooks

This is the same site I am monitoring for drivers and Vista apps but I haven't found A fingerprint driver either. As it says at the bottom...Vista includes it but I have not found it in Vista either.

I don't believe fingerprint login for vista is supported though... so it's kinda useless

Fingerprint software on X60s - working fine

#11 Post by btorbik » Thu Jan 11, 2007 12:36 am

As others have stated, it's working on Vista RC2 on my X60s
X60s (17044JU) - 2 GB RAM, Core-Duo, DVD multi-burner, 8-cell, Windows Vista
T61 - 4 GB RAM, DVD multi-burner, 8-cell, Windows Vista

Ok... I installed that driver and am running RC2... I enabled the option and nothing happens. So what else do I have to do in order to get the fingerprint login to work properly.
