volume/sound issue on T40

Not sure whats gone wrong with my internal sound, but it doesnt seem as loud as it used to be.. it has faded a lot.. the last thing i remeber i did was installed Windows XP service pack 2 but i am not so convinced that thats the cause... is it a hardware problem or a setting that i am not aware of?

i have gone through all audio setting and maximised the levels, but its still hasnt improved the volume when i play any audio or even DVD.

Can anyone help me.. Thanks

try to install the latest audio driver from ibm. then make sure that u have not install any software that incompatible with the soundcard.

I have downloaded the latest sound drivers, aparently i have SoundMax, but still the volume is not as loud as it used to go..

Can anyone still help me? Thanks

Have you panned back and forth between left and right to make sure you've still got both speakers working?
