remap volume keys ? possible ?

#1 Post by golbasche » Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:37 am

I think not. Im pretty much a newbie but I've researched this a bit and have decided that its impossible- at least for me.

I want to remap the three volume keys on my t43 (the ones next to the Access IBM button). I read a thread about a program that remaps the access IBM key but only that key. I read all about the hotkey manager and the registry tweaks to map one scancode to another. The hotkey manager can't remap the volume keys. The problem with editing the registry is that the volume buttons dont seem to trigger a scan code ( I used a utility called KeyTweak). Can that happen ? Since they don't have a scan code (not one i know), I dont know how to remap them. Some how these keys manage to bring up the little green ticks and change the volume without changing the cpu's master volume. I want them to change the master volume-- well actually the mute button accomplishes this feet but the volume up and down buttons dont. Can anyone solve this little problem ? I saw one post where someone else asked this- but no good answer was given- so now maybe there is someone who might have the answer.

oh yeah- i dont know if this helps- t43, 2679-un4, pentium M, everything stock i guess- and no weird/tune-up programs running
