Hello everyone. I need alittle help , I bought 2 lenovo n100 laptop's
I want to restore one to the factory setting because I install linux and by doing that I deleted the ibm partition. The other laptop in intact. How can I make dvd's to get back the linux machine to factory state.

If you already wiped the machines and installed linux, there is no way to make the recovery discs off the machine, and they must be then purchased from Lenovo.

If they are two identical machines the restore discs should work on both of them.
I don't know for sure about the Lenovo laptops but on the Thinkpads you proceed like this:

Go to Start, All Programs, Access IBM, Make recovery discs. Use a CD for the first one and either a DVD or CD's for the rest.
Then take the recovery set to the other computer and boot to them and select "Restore to factory condition", feed it discs, reboot and select "Restore to factory condition" again, let it run and you are done.

like an idiot I managed to lose my service partition when I ran out of disk space and now I need to recover my system.

I'd be happy to paypal someone for shipping, media costs and a beer or 3 if they were able to create a recovery DVD for my 3000 N100 (0768-7MM).
Or could someone host an ISO image on a FTP site to allow me to download it?

I had XP Pro installed, but would happily accept an XP Home recovery DVD if it recovered my service partition / Lenovo apps etc.
