How do you disable automatic XP logon with Fingerprints?

#1 Post by Bob34 » Mon Jan 01, 2007 10:13 am

I'd rather not have the Single logon option, as in when booting I don't want a fingerprint scan for the Power-On/Harddisk passwords automatically logon in XP. Not a security issue, more for convienance. Though, where its suppose to be located it refers back to "Manage Security Settings" and I don't see that option.

PS I can see the Proper Check box to uncheck for to disable this option but only if I'm logged in without Administrator rights, and its greyed out.

Mine is listed in the Fingerprint Control Center.
Settings -> System Settings -> Logon -> "allow power-on security single sign on" and it shows up both as an admin and as a limited user (but greyed out as you point out).

I'm using Fingerprint software 5.5.0 with CSS 7.00.0022.00.

Seems to work fine for me..

This is so odd, thats exactly where its suppose to be but its not listed there it has nothing, just text saying to go to Manage Security Policies. Can you tell me what your Security Policies Are under Advanced Menu? Running the same versions you are too. Is there something else that suppose to be installed alongside of CSS/Fingerprint/Password manager software? I've uninstalled a lot of the Thinkvantage software so.

Anyone know of any problems with uninstalling then reinstalling CSS? I'm not using any password saving for Windows Apps (yet) or Drive encryption.

Well I got tired of CSS slowing the boot times so signifcantly so I uninstalled it. Got that menu back though :) Kind of miss Password Manager so I may reinstall if I don't find a better alternative.
