T43p bluescreens after standby resume

#1 Post by koolzero » Tue Jan 02, 2007 4:56 pm

When I put my laptop into suspend on my docking station and then take it off the dock and resume from standby it blue screens.

How can I view the error dump from the blue screen?

Perhaps others will relate different experiences, but from what I have seen, it is not wise to change hardware while in suspend mode with Windows XP. I suggest you resume from suspend before undocking, then suspend again after you have undocked your ThinkPad.

Most hardware changes during suspend are fine, the system should resume and operate normally (USB, docks, Ultrabay, etc); you can use dumpchk to check the info after you have tracked down the event in the EventLog.

I've got the text from the kernel dump can I paste it here? It's rather long.

Here is the error log if anyone wants to take a look at it.

Thanks for any help!

Does this happen every time?

In any case, I would recommend running diagnostics on your system, particularly a RAM test. Does hibernate have the same issue if you hibernate while docked and wake up undocked?
