T43 hinges?
T43 hinges?
Hey, I noticed a problem with my T43. If i grab the top of the screen when the laptop is "open" with my thumb and peter pointer finger, i can wiggle the screen about 1cm due to the hinges are a little "loose".
If i grab the hinges the same way, with my thumb and finger, I can wiggle the metal hinge a tiny little bit. It doesn't feel right at all. Now i don't know if its the plastic the hinge is fastened to that is flexing, or if the hinge is plain loose.
Can some other T43 owner try the same thing to see if this is supposed to be like this so I know if my laptop needs a little checkup?
Thanks.

Hi,
I had the same with my T42p I used and carried regularly. I think it should (at least it was for me) be fixed by tightening the screws for the hinges.
I just looked this up in the HMM (avail. @ www.lenovo.com) and these screws are the four screws on the back below the hinges (two for each).
Just look it up in the HMM or try to tighten these four screws on the back to check if this helps.

Hi,
if you take a look in the HMM for the T43, the screws are on the back for the 14" display (only from the back) while for the 15" there is one screw from the top below the bezel and one from the bottom (no screws from the back that case).
If you have the 15" (like I have), you will not find any screw on the back related to the hinges,

Well,
you can either remove the bezel and tighten the two screws fixing the hinges as well as tighten the screws on the bottom. As these are the only screws nearby the hinges, you should find them. If you want to make double sure to work on the correct screws, go to www. lenovo.com and download the HMM which shows the assembly.
