Vista loaded on N100 . rocks !

#1 Post by rampe » Tue Jan 02, 2007 6:03 pm

I loaded windows vista on my n100, all drives found from lenovo site.
Only issue is the fingerprint reader, the driver is loaded correctly Authentec 2501 but omnipass is not vista compatible, I used the digitalpersona password manager from MS site but it asks for usb fingerprint reader however N100 uses a embedded one, any help ?

Lenovo 3000 N100 with Windows Vista

#2 Post by swiss420 » Thu Jan 25, 2007 7:44 pm

Just got yesterday the Official Windows Vista Upgrade Business License from my Microsoft Action Pack Subscribtion. Since my new Lenovo N100 says Windows Vista Capable I went for it and Upgraded to Windows Vista. All in all I went without bigger Problems except for Omnipass 4.0.0.54. That will not work under Vista. I wrote softexinc.com and asked for a release Date so far no answear. If I do get some news I will post them here.

Now my Question does anyone know of an Solution for Authentec Fingerprint scanner to be Used in Windows Vista. Are there any Native tools? I have found this list of Third Party Software Vendors for the Authentec Fingerprint scanner but none as far I can tell has a Vista Solution ready.

Also does anyone know what the Problems is with the Java installer. It works I believe but it comes with an error. Just interessted if there is a better way or maybe just wait...

Feedback from Softexinc.com

Just got an email from OmniPass Support:

"We will be adding Vista suport to our upcoming 5.0 series of omnipass that will be released On january 30 when Vista is released to the public. There will be a 30 day trial of the software available and since you have a previous version of Omnipass you can go through our upgrade program to get a huge discount off the retail price." Rick Hutchinson, Softex Support

Wonder if Notebooks with the Windows Vista Capable Logo will receive an Update for Omnipass through the respective Notebook Vendor.
