If you read the manual it will tell you to NOT fully discharge your battery. Simply charge it any time no matter what state of charge it is in. L-Ion batteries do NOT need constant full discharging as they have little "memory".

Just use you laptop and enjoy it!

I've almost always had my 600E plugged in when I'm using it. First it was because I could, but after awhile it was because I had to. I've worn out two battery packs in 5 years. Right now it has a battery life of, let's say, 5 minutes. :-)

But maybe the old 600e had some worked with a technique that now has been replaced? I shouldn't worry about keeping my forthcoming T42 (2373-JXG, the global/european version of 2373-JXU) plugged in or not, is htat what you're saying?

if you only wore out two battery packs in 5 years on a battery that had, at best, a 1 year life, i would say that you were doing SOMETHING right..! :D
