mup.sys freezes on safe mode.

Hi, anyone encounter a blue screen when you try to access into your safe mode and it freezes at mup.sys

Anyone know how to solve the problem?

I had this same issue. I called support and the Atlanta support rep told me there was nothing I could do and to use rescue and recovery to rebuild the HDD to its as-shipped state. DO NOT do this as it will erase all your data!

I solved the issue by using my own Windows XP install CD to boot into recovery mode and run CHKDSK. CHKDSK found errors on the drive and fixed them. I was lucky as able to boot into the disk and backup.

I then had Lenovo email me a replacement HDD.
