This post is seriously off topic for the T60 section.
And an LED backlight will eventually use energy than a fluorescent tube, but current shipping products can be about the same efficiency.

But aren't LED LCDs also brighter? So one can lower the intensity several notches and still get enough light from it, effectively reducing power consumption.Dimitri_P wrote:LED will eat more energy.
