T30 Noise

#1 Post by rankine » Fri Jan 05, 2007 6:25 am

Hello everybody!

I own a Thinkpad T30 2366-85U. I am experiencing some low volume high frecuency (near the non-audible frecuency) noise that makes my head get crazy after some time running the computer.

Could anyone suggest me where it could come? Could be the fan? Could be the HDD? Other?

Anybody experiencing the same issue?

Thanks for all!

Can you get a little closer and help distinguish a general area it's coming from? It could be a number of things without knowing any details.

I had a hard drive that made a really high pitched squeal, almost like your ears were ringing.

Welcome to the forum! I have some surfing buddies from revista Tres60 from the Bilbao area. Mundo pequeño.

I think it could be from the HDD as ronbo613 appointed but I am not sure 100%. Being more concrete I think it could be the needle that makes read/write operations. But as it is a high frequency noise I am just wondering if it could be some electronic filter LC that after some time makes that noise or even the fun.

I have put the ear in all the sites posibles and I think it's the HDD but I am not sure 100%.

Ronbo613 yes, Bilbao is closed to seaside and we have a great waves to make surfing although I am not a surfer to give you more concrete details.

Thanks for all again!
