the old webboard forum was copied by ibm from ME..!

now they use the fact that my web site looks too much like IBM and causes confusion so that i appear to be IBM and/or Lenovo, against me, in my quest to re-establish my ibm/lenovo account..

Hello DcDomain,
dcdomain wrote:The mambo site you linked to looks like a default install, in terms of design you can do a lot more than that
I don't know, which Mambo site you mean. If you mean the Template Showcase by the turkish Mambo community: Yes, these Templates shown are all default install without any modifications.

But as most of the free Mambo Templates are using CSS, even a beginner to webdesign like me :-) can change colours, font, borders, etc. very easily.

And if you are a advanced webdesigner, there is of course a lot more to change or you can develop your own Mambo Template. You can find enough tutorials in many languages including english, french, spanish, german etc., how to do that.

I do like Mambo for building a website out-of-the-box and modifiing it in less than one day.

I do like typo3 for building complex websites or websites who follow section 508 guidelines (which Mambo does not to 100 % right now, but will in early 2006 with the new Version 5.0).

And I do like b2evolution or pLog for building a weblog.

As told before, I never touched a Nuke-Clone like PostNuke etc., because I really got annoyed by PHP-Nuke. But as I am no professional, I have no guts to solve my problems with Nuke and perhaps I should give PostNuke a second chance.

But this is now getting way off-topic as we are supposed to talk about Billd new Website here.

I think, we will have more feedback and/or suggestions, when more content is published in the new version of the website.
Bill, can you please tell us, how that content publishing is progressing? You know, we are eager to read and read and read... :D

How about linking to the ThinkWiki for specs and technical details with a special designed button or image, when there a texts about certain models or special ThinkPad-technology inside a text on the new website?

And perhaps some people are interested to summarize some explanations from Bills ThinkPad Web-Forum or the mailinglist for the new ThinkPads.com-website - like they do with the F.A.Q. or the Mini-F.A.Q. in the mailinglist?
I could try it for the A30-model and I am sure there are other users out here who could do the same with other models and perhaps are interested to do that too?

That would not prevent newbiws from aksing the same questions again and again, but could be perhaps useful to these people, who know how to handle a search box at a website...

just my 2 cents,
pitsche
Do you know http://www.thinkwiki.org/ or Mambo or Typo3 or b2evolution or GIMPshop or Open Office? You do? Great stuff, right?

Just an update, Mambo has now become Joomla (www.joomla.org).

I found out recently that the new The Onion site uses a modified version of Drupal. Very nicely executed.
