T60 at CompUsa

#1 Post by deeastman » Sat Jan 06, 2007 4:25 pm

I noticed our local CompUsa has two Lenovo models in store and it appears that CUSA will be selling one or two basic models.
A 14" T60 Core Duo View Here and a Lenovo N100 series Notebook 14". Although the T60 is not the latest C2D model this gives some their first opportunity of touching and viewing a Thinkpad in person before ordering.

Just a FYI post :D

CompUSA? How low can they go? Before we know it, they'll be selling T60 machines at Canned Food Warehouse, Dollar Tree or Goodwill.

They sell those same models at costco. I think that it's hard to beat Costco's return policy for computers: 6 months, no questions asked.

There was a time, quite a few years ago when Compusa displayed a number of thinkpad models. Long before Lenovo entered the picture.

I have not particularly been a fan of CompUSA for several years now, but when I went shopping on Black Friday last November, they beat Best Buy, pricewise, on several items that I looked at. FTR, this CompUSA and Best Buy are only a couple of blocks from each other. I was surprised.!

Sweet, I'll be shopping at Costco next, I can buy a computer and return it six months later for a newer model, then repeat the process.

Is this just a joke or are you really not aware of it? Best Buy has been selling Thinkpads for about a year.

Actually, it used to be you could return a computer anytime, no questions asked. They reduced the policy to six months due to abuse (just for computers, all other merchandise still has the generous "anytime" policy) . They only problem with Costco online is that they don't have a very wide variety. Specially when it comes to thinkpads, they only have two or three preconfigured models, and not the high-end ones. Some stores have them in situ, but there are few of those stores.
