There really is no big difference I have seen when using systems set on 16bit as opposed to 32bit. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Where do you think the saving would come from when on 16bit? LCD consumption or GPU consumption?

My guess would be the GPU. Color depth basically adjusts how many different shades there are between two different colors, I don't see that would have any effect on the power consumption. As far as I know, the consumption of LCD comes from the brightness. GPU on the other hand, has to work harder to compute all those extra shades of colors, therefore might need more power to run. But I'm not sure how much this is comparing to the overall power consuption of the laptop.

Why I ask this question is because,
if you remember, every or most IBM lappy
is set at 16bit colour when it's out of the
box. Looking for someone that have
the real data from test between 16bit or 32bit....

If there is a difference, it should be extremely small. I use 16-bit on all of my computers, not because I want the batteries to last longer but because I think it might speed up my systems a little bit.
