WinXP Activiation

If I recall correctly, there is a limited number of times you can install store-bought Windows XP (limited number of activiations even though installed on the same computer). Is this the case with my IBM WinXP? Or can I reinstall it as much as I like on my laptop?

The version of XP on the recovery CDs does not require activation.
