Backing up t21 W2k recovery disks.

#1 Post by dara212 » Mon Jan 08, 2007 9:09 pm

I purchased a t21 2647-8au from e-bay. The seller said it had a power on problem,go figure. It was a complete system which included the 3 product recovery disks, the main reason why I bid on it. I tried out the disks to make sure they worked properly and they did. But I did notice there were a lot of scratches on them. I would like to make a set of back ups while they are still working correctly. I realize the W2k disk needs to be bootable. Do product recovery disks require a different approach when copying than a retail or oem version of windows. I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you.

just use any software that has an option of cloning CDs or Disk Copying
If u have nero just use the CD copy option or if u have alcohol 120% u can use the Copy wizard.
I think that there are some free cd cloning tools on the web, just google them.
There souldn't be an special way to copy them 'cause they are normal disks they don't have copy protection like game CDs.
just use a CD cloning tool and then try them on your computer to see if the colnes are good.

good luck ;)

thank you for your help. i need to make the disk bootable. just copying the files to a blank cd does not make it bootable. i have been using easy cd creator 5 and have experimented with different processes with no luck. i am using cd-rw media. I've tried various boot images to no avail.
