A21m Motherboard installation !!

#1 Post by srkumar1946 » Tue Jan 09, 2007 6:57 am

Hi Friends,
I am replacing my laptop motherboard of model A21M -G2U.The motherboard is confirmed defective.I will be getting the m/board very soon.I want to know if it is possible to check out the servicebility of the newly acquired motherboard with minimum essential components connected to the board instead of reassembling the complete laptop before connecting the power supply.we can check the motherboard in a desktop by installing the processor, memory, graphics card and keyboard..will this be possible in a laptop?any suggestion/advice and precautions to be taken in this regard will be very helpful when i reinstall the m/board as per hardware manual.
Thanks and regards to all,
Ramkumar

There's not a whole lot you can do without putting most everything back together, since much of the missing stuff will give an error on POST. From my experience, about the best you can do to test things out and speed it up is to not put all the screws back in until you're sure of everything. There are some trim parts that don't have to be in place like bezels, etc., but unfortunately that sometimes can lead to problems as well like not putting the HDD cover on make it a lot harder to pull out.
