Dual Monitor Configuration

#1 Post by collector_edi » Tue Jan 09, 2007 10:21 am

I ordered a 20" monitor that has native 1600x1200 resolution. I was hoping that the result would be similar to that of my T60p. Unfortunately the setting creates a scrolling task to see the entire screen real estate. Is there a way I can get the second monitor to reduce the size of the viewable area so I don't have to scroll? I want to do this without changing to 1280 x 1024.

I ordered a Dell 2007 FPb model.

I'm beginning to assume it has to do with the external video port on my T60p. Any ideas?

You can go to the display control panel and adjust the screen resolution.

I have the ati card which comes with the catalyst control panel for the display. I created a profile that I can select to switch the resolution, since it's on the systray.

For me, when I dock, I find the display settings get messed up (I have dual monitors, one vga, one dvi, and when re-docking they primary/secondary order gets messed up). So rather than going to display control panel, I just select the catalyst profile that I created beforehand.

I had to do the following. Thank you for the input as well.

1. Thinkpad Advantage
2. Presentation Director
3. Change Dual Display mode to 1600 x 1200.

I had to change the settings in the OS display settings as well as the instructions above.
