Windows 2000 won’t install on an X40

Hello,

First: If you are Dutch I ask you to read the detailed explanation:
http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/lis ... ges/953891

If you are not Dutch then please read this:

I have to install windows 2000 prof next to my IBM XP installation on my X40-XS (1.2, 40gb, A/B/G, 8cell)

So I bought a Sumvision External CD / Hdd casing and installed a cd-drive in it. Windows XP detects it and it works perfectly.

So I rebooted and the bios saw the cd-drive instantly and booted up win2000 setup. Until now everything is fine. Windows then copies the temp files in the ram for setup. (* you know, the part where you can press F6)

As soon as the laptop is ready with doing this you normally get a black screen for 2 secs and then setup asks you what you want to do (F3, ESC, Enter for setup .. you know) But instead of getting this screen I get not a 2 sec black screen but 10 a black screen secs and then I get a BSOD: Inaccesible_boot_device. And that’s it...

There is noting I can do about it.

Then I got a XP prof cd and it installed perfectly. Now I ask you, what the heck do I wrong?
Is this a defect?

I Need 2000 Prof installed. :(
