T23 wont charge the battery on ac

#1 Post by dorronto » Wed Jan 10, 2007 12:48 pm

Just received a nice T23 P3-1.2, sxga with internal wifi. When I plug in the ac adapter, the battery mizer icon on the task bar shows that it's plugged in, but doesn't charge the battery! The percentage stays the same when plugged in. Unplug it and the percentage slowing goes down as normal.

WHAT GIVES???

Any ideas? I really don't want to return this, but I've never had this happen before. YES, I switched batteries and ac adapters, but to no avail.

I need serious help on this. :(

Thanks,
Ron

PS..........I'm reading all the old posts concerning this problem. Seems to be somewhat common. Off with the keyboard.........

Hmm... nice system! Same one I'm using right now (2647-HNU).

I would say that you have some sort of motherboard problem. You have appeared to have elminated both the battery and AC adapter by swapping them out.

Thanks Ray. In reading the other posts, it seems that if I don't find either a blown fuse or capacitor, or a loose capacitor on the board, then I will be SOOL! I hope this is an easy fix.
