My T42 onboard speakers stopped working, help!

I just noticed today that my T42 speakers are not working. When I plug my headphones into the audio jack, the headphones seem to work just fine, therefore I doubt the sound-card is broken.

Recently, I did do some hardware mods to my system. I recently installed a bluetooth daughter card and a 120GB Seagate Momentus HDD into my T42. Both of these devices seem to be working properly, as does everything else on my system with the exception of the thinkpad's speakers.

Does anyone know how to verify that my speakers are broken? Or better still, does anyone know how to fix it? tyia.
