Question: 2 batteries, which discharges first?

I have a question regarding batteries: If I have say the 6 cell and the ultrabay battery, what is the usage pattern? Is there any? I mean which battery will get used first? Is it the same for a T60 (6 cell + ultrabay) and X31 (4 cell + extended)?

I checked the battery maximiser in my X31 and saw that the extended battery is used first - how does this happen? What controls it?

Am just curious to know this - is there anyone who knows anything about this?

On a T4x, the Ultrabay Slim battery will discharge first.

It's similar for all the Thinkpads; an extended battery is drained first, usually without discharge thresholds, then the main battery is discharged slowly.
