560E very dark screen

#1 Post by wehugheog » Fri Jan 12, 2007 9:00 am

I found my 560E today and booted it. The screen is very very dark...

Is there a way that I can ge tthis better? It's hardly viewable nowadays, or is it a goner? I would like to use this one as my ebook before going to sleep. nice and quiet/no fan.

I did use the slider on the side of the screen to max, but to no avail (not really).

Thanks

It sounds like your backlight is going out. You can check and see if an external monitor has a good image and then you might try reseating the connections on the MB. But in all likelihood, you'll have to either replace the backlight or replace the whole screen if you aren't comfortable with taking the screen itself apart and doing a little soldering.
